Meet The Artist:
Anthony M. Stencel
Military historian and artist Anthony M. Stencel brings a unique
perspective to his works, through his uncommon combination of artistic
talent and military service. His life experience and willingness to
spend hundreds of hours researching every detail of the work he is
creating ensure that the final result of his labor will be exceptional.
Stencel served with the National Guard for 9 years, and was deployed
overseas on three joint military training exercises, cross trained as an
Intelligence Noncommissioned Officer, and received the Army Commendation
Medal and the Army Achievement Medal with an oak leaf cluster.
He holds a degree from the Milwaukee School of Art and Design, and has
studied at the Disney Institute.
He has also advanced his knowledge and skills at the side of Master
Water Colorist Joseph Fettingis, AWS and the renowned aviation artist
Gil Cohen, ASAA.
Stencel has been accepted into both the Air Force Art Program, and the
Coast Guard Art Program, sponsored by New York's Salmagundi Club. This
affords him the opportunity to be imbedded within military units to
document their efforts and lives through art.
