"Hat's Off"

This is a watercolor of various headgear that the Wisconsin Army National Guard has used throughout it's colorful history. I truly enjoyed painting the details and doing the research for this piece.

These "hats" tell the story of how military needs have so dramatically changed since the Civil War era and act as a chronological timeline to these changes and needs.
