"The Old Sarge" - 2003

This is a watercolor painting of one of the re-enactors portraying a member of the 5th Wisconsin at the Old Wade House Civil War Weekend in 2003.

This soldier was portraying a First Sargeant of "The First Shirt, Old Sarge". I wanted to capture his image and mood, as he was getting his troops to "muster in" the ranks.
